Paolo Puggioni

Director, Data and Innovation BlackRock

Paolo Puggioni, PhD, Director and data and Innovation Manager, is a member of the European Equity team within the Fundamental Equity division of BlackRock’s Active Equity Group. He is responsible for providing fund managers and analysts with alternative data and scalable analytical / predictive tools.

Prior to joining BlackRock, Paolo spent 3 years at Schroders, as Machine Learning Data Scientist in their Data Insights Unit. He began his career as a quant in a sports betting hedge fund.

Paolo earned a PhD in Computational Neuroscience from the University of Edinburgh in 2014. He completed an MSc in Computer Science (Edinburgh, 2009), an MSc in Physics (Milan, 2006) and he has worked at CERN (Geneva) for 2 years as accelerator physicist.
